Looks like mandatory condom use in porn might happen due to HIV

Back in July of 2009 I wrote on www.gettingintoporn.com in the sections entitled "Health Issues and STDs" and "The Future of Porn" that condom use should become more prevalent in porn production if not mandatory - I've always felt that safe sex IS sexy sex.

Well it looks like in light of a pornstar testing positive for HIV as reported in the Los Angeles Times on October 12, 2010 - that many within the porn industry are finally getting their wake up call and a change may be on the horizon.

According to LukeIsBack.com's latest post: Mandatory Condoms, Yes? No? quite a few within the talent pool are speaking up in regards to wanting to protect themselves. Even long time industry veteran Lisa Ann (best known for playing Sarah Palin in several political porn parodies) has stated in the Boston Herald that "she will refuse pressure from production companies who demand unprotected sex on camera and she’s going condom-only."

Considering that as of current Vivid, Wicked, Brazzers, KickAss, Hustler, Digital Playground & Cheeky Monkey Productions have all halted shooting until AIM can furnish them with a comprehensive "quarantine list" of those who had exposure to Patient 0 (the original performer who contracted HIV on October 12, 2010 ) it would be like playing Russian Roulette to participate in a "non-condom" adult scene shoot.

I personally feel that AIM's (www.aim-med.org) has neglected to take many scientifically proven factors into consideration in regards to their testing practices, which I will write at great length about in the coming week.

Another male performer has tested HIV positive through AIM

Many ask why I decided to stop working as an adult actress back in early 2009 - there are many reasons why (as you can read on my blogs: www.GettingOutOfPorn.com and http://monicafoster.blogspot.com ) but a primary reason had to do with realizing that I felt that maintaining my health and living life free of STD's far outweighed any amount of money I could have earned as a "pornstar".

Allegedly a male "crossover" performer (a male adult actor who works in both gay and straight porn)has tested HIV positive via AIM (www.aim-med.org) and consequently as of current 1 female talent and 3 male talents who have had exposure to him are now quarantined from the adult movie talent pool (reportedly the number of quarantined individuals is growing).

I've stated many times over the past year or so that NOW IS NOT THE TIME to attempt a career as a porn talent. If you want to get in on the adult entertainment world start as a SOLO WEBCAM model FROM THE COMFORT AND SAFETY of your OWN HOME.
