Marc Drescher aka Marc From the Dark - owner of AdultTalentRegistry (and best known from ABC's Karaoke Battle) IS BACK IN LOS ANGELES !

a Monica Foster MonicaAtHome.com exclusive

Both adult and mainstream entertainment circles alike will be delighted to learn that after a well deserved hiatus, Marc Drescher aka Marc From the Dark (@MarcFromTheDark on twitter) is back to Los Angeles, California!

Though Marc From the Dark (the creator and owner of www.AdultTalentRegistry.com) will remain a well established behind the scenes fixture in the adult entertainment sphere - in 2012 he will be branching out into mainstream entertainment - specifically into music.

Marc Drescher was a regional finalist on ABC's Karaoke battle last year - and the exposure Marc has received from making his appearance on the show has opened more doors and opportunities than he'd ever anticipated.

Marc's vocal stylings are his true passion - and though he will continue to maintain www.adulttalentregistry.com (a free resource for the porn industry which connects performers directly with studios and producers), Marc will be taking solid steps towards fulfilling his mainstream entertainment industry goals.

On his way to Los Angeles, Marc took a pit stop in Las Vegas to attend the upcoming Pornstar Karaoke event and of course to say "Hello" to his good friend Monica Foster.

Marc actually was able to pull off a miracle since he's been here in Las Vegas - he managed to get Monica Foster out of the house and into the lively Ellis Island Casino karaoke bar (where he sang her a song).

7 Cities The Porn Industry Could Move To If It Leaves Los Angeles

Monica Foster commentary: I personally hope the Los Angeles porn industry relocates to some city in Canada - that seems to be where many of the "power players" have roots to begin with (Manwin). Canada also seems to be where much of the most promoted talent has come from (Sunny Leone, Pamela Peaks, Shyla Stylez, Lanny Barbie, Pamela Anderson, the late Dorothy Stratten - and the list goes on).

courtesy AdultFYI.com

The Los Angeles city council has passed a law, to be enacted on March 5th, that all adult film actors must wear a condom while performing scenes within the LA city limits. The ruling came out of concerns for the health and safety of the actors involved, as well as a desire to not promote unsafe sex to the masses.

As the deadline nears, production companies are considering emigrating from Los Angeles to locales that don’t have such restrictions in place. Though it’s unlikely that the industry will emigrate en masse, there are many cities that would be both viable and desirable for porn film production. Many aren’t intuitive, but behind each location listed are some unique aspects that many may find to be more desirable than Los Angeles (which includes the valley districts of Chatsworth, Canoga Park, and many others).

El Paso

El Paso seems like an odd choice for to house the porn industry, but it serves a niche purpose. A study done in 2004 found the Texas border town to be the sweatiest city in the United States. With an average summer temperature of 93 degrees and relative humidity of 70%, El Paso is a sauna all right. El Paso City Council has been trying to repudiate the claim, as would most cities, but why not turn a problem into an opportunity, as everyone (I think) loves good, sweaty sex.

Think about the marketing. “_________ (film name) offers the kind of sweaty lovemaking that only El Paso can provided. Sure, other films offer sweaty sex, but shooting in El Paso means that we couldn’t get any sweatier if we tried.”

This goes hand-in-hand with an idea I had for Bikram pornography, but I really don’t feel comfortable talking about that until the patent office gets back to me.

Portland

Portlandia has become a cult hit as it observes, reports, and ridicules the idiosyncrasies of this one-of-a-kind town, so why not demonstrate to what end those quirks exist? We’re over schoolgirls, exercise instructors, and cheerleaders. Give us baristas, underemployed DJs, and bicycle messengers. I’m getting worked up just thinking about it!

I would like to see fetish films about fair-trade sex and environmentally responsible gangbangs. In fact, I’m going to demand it. I hear the quality of life is amazing in Portland, so I’m sure that the talent would be thrilled to move there.

Also, Voodoo Donuts is amazing.

Miami

If you ever wished your porn was greasier, sleeker, and more contrived, then Miami would be number one on your wish list as an adult film locale. Sure, everyone liked amateur porn…for a while. But don’t you now want ridiculously tan Latin dudes having sex in Escalades while a single hair doesn’t fall out of place? Yeah you do.

And if you thought that porn actresses in LA were plastic looking, get excited, because the ones in Miami will be the plastic-est. It’s like watching realistic robots have sex. Which is kind of true, since most people in Miami don’t have souls.

St. Louis

I just think this would be funny on both ends. It would be funny to cite St. Louis as the home of Cardinals baseball and the porn capital of the world, and it would also be funny to see what happens to St. Louis, when 10,000 porn actors get dropped off there on March 5th. I imagine it would be like the opening scene in Scarface, but with a lot more Juicy Couture track suits and small dogs.

St. Louis is also home to the arch. Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been clamoring for an adult film that uses the arch in a sexual fashion. I don’t have an engineering degree, so I don’t know what’s possible, but I do know that greater minds than mine can sort this type of thing out.

Branson, Missouri

I’ve never been to Branson, but I’m guessing that I wouldn’t like it much as it is today. It seems largely to be a destination for people in RVs who enjoy country music revues and the comedic stylings of Ronald Reagan’s favorite comedian, Yakov Smirnoff. Branson will never get my money unless something changes.

I think you could qualify a mass influx of adult film workers as “something changing.” All of a sudden, Las Vegas has a rival. Drug dealers, sex workers, and Hummer dealerships would flourish. A seedy underbelly would develop in a matter of minutes. I’ve even got a new tourism slogan:

“Branson, Missouri: A Tale of Two Cities”

Awesome, right?

Salt Lake City

This scenario would be pretty much the same as the Branson one, only you get the whole lapsed Mormon thing going on, which is hot as hell. I happen to know a handful of Mormons in the adult industry, and they’re great. It’s nice to hang out with people who are completely incapable of judging you because you are familiar with their spectacular downward spiral.

It would also make Sundance a lot more fun.

Gstaad

I know very little about Gstaad, except that it’s a Swiss alpine city that rich people went to in the 1970’s and 80’s. If it was to get a burgeoning adult film scene, I think that it would be done right. Not only would the films get 80% classier, but I think that they would be hotter just by having the word “Gstaad” in the opening credits. It’s a sexy word, and two camps would develop. One group would pronounce it “Schtaad,” while another group would say “G-shtad.” A smaller splinter group would say “G-shtat.” I like to think I would be in the third camp, but there’s only one way to know for Gsure.

Bring porn to Gstaad. For the sake of art.

Monica Foster on Christian Pornstar - Controversy, Playboy, Porn industry Reform - part 1

In part 1 of this broadcast, Monica Foster reviews exactly what Christian Pornstar is all about and relates that Christian Pornstar is designed to be controversial. Monica shares how she find's it interesting that those who are most critical of the show, are those with the most to hide, who probably wouldn't fair too well themselves in the "public eye".

Monica Foster then touches on the week's top porn and adult entertainment industry news stories - Stephanie Adams being mishandled by New York police officers and being accused of being a vampire & Claire Sinclaire being allegedly battered by Marsten Hefner (Hugh Hefner's son) .

Monica concludes with her thoughts on the religious group Jews For Jesus before going into part 2 of the broadcast (which will be the next Monica At Home Christian Pornstar upload) of which the Los Angeles porn industry's new laws which MUST be acknowledged and followed (such as the condom mandates) will be discussed.

ICM Announces Launch of Pre-Paid Performer Program - all performers need to get on board with .xxx !

Monica Foster commentary: I just signed up for this and I must state a huge "Thank You" to ICM and the .xxx people. They are offering a FREE YEAR (your domain is pre-paid till February 21, 2013) to all performers who register their .xxx domain. I strongly feel that the .xxx domain will assist in protecting children from adult material in the future so I took part in the .xxx program and requested my pre-reserved domain just a few minutes ago (and it only took my about 5 mins to complete the process).
Gosh, I wonder how fat Fabian Thylmann (who's a wannabe Steve Jobs - he never will be...) and his non-US based company Manwin (who filed a lawsuit backed by the Free Speech Coalition FSC) will counter this? It's hard to beat FREE and it's impossible to beat God. I suppose they could sway some by offering free performer testing via the FSC's APHSS (Adult Performer's Health and Safety Services) program, but then they'd have to loosen the slavery chains...hmmmm WHATEVER WILL THEY DO NOW? Someone's in BIG TROUBLE - LOLOLOLOL.

courtesy Xbiz.com

ICM Registry, the company behind the new .XXX top-level domain, on Tuesday announced the details of the Adult Performer Program, which releases more than 3,500 .XXX domain names that were initially held in reserve to protect the individual name interests of performers and personalities within the adult entertainment industry.

“We recognized early on that a significant portion of the core success of the adult industry lies with its performers,” said Vaughn Liley, sales director for ICM Registry. “We also became aware that performers do not often have registered trademarks, nor do they retain legal representation to protect their trade name."

Liley continued, "The Adult Performers Program was born from the desire to make a conscious effort to protect these individuals who are truly at the core of the adult entertainment community. We offered a similar and unprecedented protection for existing adult domain owners as a part of our Sunrise A program in September and October of last year.

"We feel that these programs, along with our Rapid Evaluation Service (RES) dispute resolution policies, are a positive step toward protecting against infringement as well as a deterrent to would be cybersquatters. The Adult Performer Program verification process is now available to 3500-plus performers and personalities whose names have been reserved in anticipation of this program."

Liley said these names will be released "only to performers and personalities who express their interest at http://www.about.xxx/performers and complete a simple identity verification process and affidavit."

Performers and personalities with more questions about the program can contact performers@icmregistry.com.

ICM said that In conjunction with Name.com, these names are already pre-paid for the first 12 months (until Feb. 3, 2013) "and performers can either maintain the domains at Name.com or, if they prefer, transfer them to the registrar of their choice in the usual way. “

"At Name.com, we love creative ideas that benefit everybody involved," said Jared Ewy, Name.com’s community evangelist. “ICM Registry's Adult Performer Program is a brilliant way to promote .XXX within the industry, while increasing web traffic and protecting adult performers. As a domain registrar, we'll support these domains with our world class customer support, security and 24/7 monitoring, so industry talent can rest easy that more traffic won't mean more problems — just more business with .XXX and Name.com.”

ICM Registry said it had the opportunity to verify Teagan Presley, the award-winning Adam & Eve contract star, during a recent live appearance where she became the first performer to be verified through the program and will be awarded the rights to www.teaganpresley.xxx.

“With the launch of the .XXX domain names, I was concerned that a squatter would grab www.teaganpresley.xxx and try to extort me," Presley said. “Luckily the guys at ICM were smart and held on to the talent URLs; they allowed me to get it with no mess. Thank you, ICM!”

Thank you former prosecutor Wendy Murphy for taking time out of your life to deal with this brainwashed creature.

Wendy definitely got Kayden thinking - yes, Kayden's face appears "calm and collected" (plastic surgery will do that to you) but take a look at that tense body language of hers (arms crossed, rocking back and forth, fidgeting, etc...)

Thank you former prosecutor Wendy Murphy for taking time out of your life to deal with Kayden Kross, who in my view is a brainwashed, sheltered, creature (aka "contract star" who does not have the same experience in porn as 95% + of the female porn talent in the Los Angeles porn industry) who clearly is a mouth piece for those with a very self serving agenda.

I'm definitely going to have to address Kayden Kross's stance on condom use in porn on the next www.MonicaAtHome.com - I've heard Kayden repeatedly say quite a few things that are so off world that she'd need a Stargate to get home at this phase. "Condoms hurt" (nope, my second scene was a condom scene and it didn't hurt - LUBE does exist...), "we choose our partners" (only if you're a contract girl or in very high demand, I never had the chance to choose my porn talent)...and the list goes on.

Will Kayden ever come clean and admit that Ari Bass aka Michael Whiteacre along with Diane Duke of the Free Speech Coalition have been coaching her?

Also why does FoxBusiness.com introduce Kayden Kross on their website as a FORMER ADULT FILM ACTRESS - is she suddenly no longer performing? If not - WHY? Jenna Haze and Jada Fire have both suddenly retired as well...hmmm....

Is there a reason that Digital Playground didn't promote this "debate" well in advance or heavily? I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for www.MikeSouth.com ... seems to me that Digital Playground didn't have very much confidence in what Kayden Kross would have to say (and I think I can see why).

Furthermore, why were there so many horny looking males in that audience of Asian decent?

Lastly - WHAT IN THE WORLD is up with the pink hair? Miss Kross - you really look much better without that ghetto looking hot mess of a weave.

Brad Armstrong of Wicked Pictures has a real problem and Ethan Hunt and Misty Stone should be ashamed of themselves - XXX Men In Black Parody thoughts.

Monica Foster commentary:

Will Smith of the original
Men In Black movie.
I reported a bit earlier that Wicked Pictures is attempting a XXX parody of Men In Black  (which I don't think  is the best choice of movies to make a parody of to begin with), however upon re-reading their official announcement on AVN.com I noticed something...

Brad Armstrong of
Wicked Pictures
"Spears' younger, gender-hopping sidekick will be played by Ethan Hunt. In an interesting casting twist, AVN Award-nominated industry star Misty Stone will play be playing the same character in scenes where the hyperactive agent is disguised as a female."

So Brad Armstrong of Wicked Pictures is apparently THAT INSECURE OF A CAUCASIAN MALE that he feels the need to turn the WILL SMITH character into essentially a CROSSDRESSER?

I suppose it's not enough for Wicked Pictures to attract the interest of a teen audience to watch their upcoming XXX parody - they have to take it a step further an EMASCULATE the character of a STRONG BLACK MAN.
I really think both Ethan Hunt and Misty Stone need to pass on this gig. I'm very aware that roles for African American (Black) pornstars are few and far between - I've been there...However assisting in the degradation of the African American people is NOT THE WAY TO GO. If both Misty and Ethan move forward with this project they're not just selling out African Americans, they're selling their souls for good.
Ethan Hunt

Misty Stone
It's time for the public to wake up and take notice of the actions of Wicked Pictures - this isn't the first time they've pushed elements that contribute to the break down of the foundations of which America is built upon. A little while ago Wicked Pictures signed pornstar Lupe Fuentes to a contract - and she was a woman who was involved in a Columbian child pornography ring.

Jesus and God only know what's next for Wicked Pictures - maybe a XXX parody of Passion of the Christ?

Tell me Brad Armstrong - who would you cast as Jesus? Seth Gamble? Dane Cross? Maybe you could write the script to include Jesus participating in beastiality with a sheep - would that turn you on sicko?

I, Monica Foster am now a solid fan of one of the whitest women in porn - Stoya - who discusses the concept of Interracial sex in porn

Monica Foster commentary: I've been a quiet fan of Stoya for quite some time - primarily due to her clearly high IQ - but maybe I also like her because her look is the female equivalent of my northern Romanian ex-husband (yep I once was married to a 6'4" whitest of the white professional European basketball player - I've led quite a colorful life...). Though I don't necessarily want to promote Digital Playground at this stage, I felt her performance was EXCELLENT in "Stoya's Webwhore".

As of today however, I'm a LOUD and PROUD fan of Stoya. In the video clip below, Stoya shares her thoughts on the "Interracial" (or IR) niche`. Stoya notes that considering that she's essentially so "white" that her scenes with Tommy Gunn could be visually categorized as IR...

Stoya just broke a barrier...and it's about time.

People claim that Stoya once shaved a Swastika into her pubic hair... how do they know it wasn't a Jainism symbol?

A new Christian Pornstar broadcast - topics: Amile Waters, Jada Fire & James Deen

Monica Foster discusses the concepts of expectations and the unexpected of 2012 along with the importance of maintaining faith in God and Jesus (Christianity) when working as an adult entertainer.

In porn industry news Monica discusses Amile Waters and an issue she's dealing with post porn. Monica
also congratulates Jada Fire on her retirement from porn. Monica then discusses her thoughts on Abc nightline's report on pornstar James Deen and how she feels his comments serve as a tactic to recruit teenagers (namely teenage girls) into the porn industry and immoral sexual lifestyle of which the porn industry promotes.

Monica Foster questions as to if James Deen is in actuality a bi-sexual in his personal life and if he is indeed a "crossover" performer considering his new found affiliation with Bret Easton Ellis which has launched him into the mainstream entertainment spotlight.

Is Manwin Getting Into Testing Now?

courtesy MikeSouth.com

I got this press release a couple weeks ago and I sat on it till I could study it a bit more, It looks to me and a lot of others like Manwin got into the testing end of the biz. When I asked someone high up at Manwin the response was that they think Peter (The Doctor mentioned here) is the guy they are working with to come up with new testing standards.

It was very clear to me that they fully intend to SET THE STANDARDS for testing for the industry.

What was interesting was the press release last week that this facility is now a part of APHSS, The Free Speech Coalitions so far failed attempt at replacing AIM.

Remember Fabians words about the Free Speech coalition:

"The Free Speech Coalition (a trade group representing certain segments of the adult industry) is not in a position to provide any real value for its members."

OK so here's that press release...what do yall think?

Cutting Edge Testing center is now offering the FDA approved test for HIV RNA PCR. The window of detection with this test will drop from the usual 10 to 14 days of the PCR DNA test, to as little as a few days! This will soon be the NEW "Industry Standard" test package (gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV RNA PCR) and it's only $120 — ten dollars less than the old test at AIM! With this price comes the assurance that there is no better, quicker way to detect exposure than with this FDA approved test. 24 Hour Test Results Guaranteed!

Already Brazzers, Mofos, and Twistys are companies that are accepting tests from Cutting Edge Testing. This new testing center for the Adult Industry is just three blocks north of the 101 freeway right down the street from where AIM was located. Cutting Edge Testing has opened it's doors to serve adult talent wanting the latest, safest and best testing service that can be provided.

Can you copyright porn?

courtesy adultfyi.com

The porn industry says it loses billions of dollars a year to Internet piracy, and one of its prime tactics to recover some of that money is to send letters to alleged downloaders threatening to sue them, thereby exposing their identities — and browsing tastes — in public records.

Groups like the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the American Civil Liberties Union say it's nothing more than extortion. When such cases make it to court, they're usually thrown out, but the industry still sends the letters to tens of thousands of people every year on the assumption that some will settle — usually for $3,000 to $5,000 — because they're too scared to risk outing themselves as porn aficionados.

But a California woman is taking a different approach, according to Courthouse News Service. The woman, Liuxia Wong www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=52901 of Solano, sued first, hitting a studio called Hard Drive Productions on Monday with the argument that its demand for a $3,400 settlement was unconstitutional because porn is obscenity, and obscenity isn't protected by the Copyright Clause of the Constitution.

It argues that:

Hard Drive's work does not promote the progress of science.

Hard Drive's work does not promote the useful arts. ...

Hard Drive's work depicts obscene material.

Plaintiff is informed and believes, and thereon alleges that to create the work, Hard Drive and its agents and/or its employees violated laws which prohibited pimping, pandering, solicitation and prostitution, including any claims of conspiracy.

Hard Drive's work depicts criminal acts and/or conduct.

As a result, she argues, "Hard Drive's work is not copyrightable" in the first place.

Msnbc.com traced how such piracy cases usually work last year:

The shorthand description of what plaintiffs' firms ... do is scour P2P networks to identify IP addresses that are downloading copyrighted material.

In non-tech, that translates to looking for videos that are being distributed across decentralized peer-to-peer (hence, P2P) file-sharing networks called "torrent sites." Then, using geotracking technology (like the GPS in your car or on your smartphone), investigators harvest the numeric Internet protocol addresses of the computers that are retrieving and sharing them. ...

That requires sophisticated programming, because the computers linked into the torrent "swarm" go on and offline from second to second — and when they're plugged in, their IP addresses can also change second by second.

A letter is typically then sent to dozens or hundreds of people at a time. The letter usually explicitly urges potential defendants to seize the opportunity to avoid litigation by settling before their names are published in a lawsuit.

In some cases, the potential defendant turns out to be an otherwise innocent bystander. Many people still don't know to secure their wireless routers with password-protected encryption, leaving them open — and easy for anyone in the neighborhood to piggyback on.
advertisement

The industry shorthand for those people is "false positives," some of whom turn out to be 70-year-old grandmothers or ministers who had no idea the kids next door were feeding off their wireless systems.

One of the leading practitioners in this area of law, John Steele of Chicago — whose firm sent the original demand letter to Wong (you can read it here in .pdf form) — talked with msnbc.com at length about his strategy:

And yes, one of the goals is to "scare people," he said — not primarily into writing checks, but to stop them from "stealing our clients' content."

That's not a bad thing, Steele said, because piracy today is so easy that "the industry's really on its knees right now."

Lots of people may think his firm's methods are unfair, but adult entertainment companies are legal businesses with valid claims, and "we believe it's completely ethical and important to recover more money than the cost of the litigation," Steele said.

the ABC network (Nightline specifically) seems to be straddling the fence on their stance about the Los Angeles porn industry - but James Deen definitely was depicted as predatorial to teen girls...

James Dean the original. The
"Rebel Without a Cause" died at
age 24. Will pornstar James Deen
follow in his footsteps?
Monica Foster commentary: The ABC network and Nightline specifically seems to be straddling the fence on their stance about the Los Angeles porn industry. A few months ago ABC's "The View" had Sasha Grey as a guest and as of late Melissa Rivers was a guest discussing "porn king" Steve Hirsch. Last night ABC's Nightline did a feature on James Deen. Unfortunately I feel that this video piece will serve as more of a recruitment mechanism rather than a deterrent from the Los Angeles porn industry. From my perspective, James Deen should be ashamed of himself for purposely luring young women into the dangerous lifestyle of which most likely he is trapped within...In fact he seems rather predatory in regards to the American teen populace of which he comments on.

It would be ironic if his future were to mirror that of the 1950's actor of which his stage name is derived from (James Dean) - Rebels without a cause rarely have much longevity (James Dean died at age 24).

Porn Valley thought it could move next door to Simi Valley due to the new Los Angeles condom mandates for porn - most likely Simi Valley will follow Los Angeles' example...

courtesy Xbiz.com

Simi Valley is following in the city of Los Angeles' footsteps on the issue of condoms on porn sets.

Council members earlier this week gave the thumbs up for a proposed ordinance that would require actors to use condoms in adult videos shot in Simi Valley, which is within minutes of Chatsworth, Calif., the epicenter for porn shot in Porn Valley.

The ordinance was drafted at the urging of Mayor Bob Huber, who said he wants to send a message to the adult industry, centered in the neighboring San Fernando Valley, that it is not welcome in "family-oriented" Simi Valley.

The proposed ordinance will be formally introduced and voted on Feb. 13.

City Manager Mike Sedell noted that enforcement could be facilitated by city code enforcement officers, not police officers.

The Los Angeles City Council and its mayor recently approved a new ordinance requiring that all adult film actors wear condoms when filming within city limits.

Los Angeles' ordinance, when it goes into effect in March, will allow authorities to perform spot checks on any (non-soundstage) set once a film permit is issued.

Officials from LAPD, Cal/OSHA and the city attorney’s office will soon announce recommendations on how to implement the ordinance, including which authority will have jurisdiction over the inspections.
